Pope Francis invites us to: “Fast from worries and have trust in God.”
We frequently worry about next steps, what others think, dangers ahead. We worry about illness in our families, war in our world and the decisions we make. Pope Francis urges us instead to trust in God. Worry does nothing to change situations, but trust puts our hearts at peace. This week each time worry creeps into our minds and hearts turn instead to our all loving God.
Read the following Scripture: Psalm 34: “I sought the Lord and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears.”
Other Scripture Readings: Philippians 4: 6-7, Matthew 6:31-34, Mark 5:36.
Let us pray: Good and gracious God, give us the peace that You alone can give. In all the tumult about us let us be secure in Your Presence. Amen
