By the Voting and Anti-Racism Committee of the Peace, Justice, and Integrity of Creation Committee

Beginning in 2022, we spent two years reading and discussing 10 chapters of The 1619
Project
. In summer 2024, we viewed and reflected on the three-part series entitled “White
Supremacy and Christian Nationalism”.

For the 2024/2025 webinar series, we will read and discuss all six chapters of The New
Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness
by Michelle Alexander.
Incarceration has grown by leaps and bounds in the United States. Why? Want to learn
more and are willing to commit to read six chapters of the book and to attend six
monthly meetings?

If so, you are invited to meet via Zoom from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

2. Tuesday, November 12—Chapter 2–“The Lockdown”
