The Sisters of Charity of New York invite friends and supporters to join us on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. ET, as we participate in a memorial to remember and honor the lives lost to COVID-19. The National COVID Memorial will also take place in cities and towns across the country.

We invite you to place a light in your window at 5:30 p.m. ET, on Tuesday, January 19, in memory of all who died as a result of COVID-19. This remembrance has special meaning for the Sisters of Charity of New York, as we have lost several of our sisters, an associate, and many loved ones to the virus.

A ceremony in Washington, D.C., will feature a lighting around the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. It will be the first-ever lighting around the Reflecting Pool to memorialize American lives lost. Many cities and towns are planning to illuminate buildings and ring bells as part of the memorial event.

The Sisters of Charity of New York join many religious and secular organizations in paying tribute to and praying for the almost 400,000 American lives lost. We hope you join us.
