This Friday, we join the wider Church in New York in a spirit of prayerful anticipation as we await the installation of Archbishop Ronald Hicks as the next Archbishop of New York.

The ministry of the Archbishop of New York carries immense pastoral responsibility—especially in this time of deep division, suffering, and longing for moral leadership rooted in the Gospel. We welcome this moment with prayer, hope, and support, and we ask God to bless Archbishop Hicks with wisdom, courage, humility, and a steadfast love for all God’s people—especially those most overlooked, excluded, or harmed.

Our President, Sister Donna Dodge, SC, has been invited to participate in the Installation Mass this Friday—an honor we receive with gratitude. Her presence reflects both the longstanding relationship between the Sisters of Charity of New York and the Archdiocese, and our continued commitment to the Gospel mission entrusted to the Church in this city.

We also hold in gratitude the long service of Cardinal Timothy Dolan, who has served as Archbishop of New York for many years, and whose leadership shaped much of the Church’s public presence in our city and state.

As we enter this new chapter, we do so with open hearts and deep faith that the Holy Spirit continues to guide the Church—calling all of us to deeper compassion, greater justice, and renewed courage for the work ahead.

Please join us in prayer for Archbishop Hicks and for the Church in New York.
