Elizabeth and Louise have seen a lot over the centuries — but they’d still shake their heads at what happened this week.
When a woman reporter is publicly mocked by the President of the United States as “piggy,” and every man in the room stays silent, the message to girls everywhere is loud and clear:
Your dignity is optional. Your worth is negotiable. Your voice is expendable.
We reject that.
These two Saints knew what it was to be dismissed, underestimated, and spoken over. They taught us to name injustice plainly and to stand with those who are targeted. We have witnessed it, we’ve lived through it, worked through it, and refused to let it define our mission.
To every woman being talked over, talked down to, or talked about:
We see you. We believe you.
And we choose truth over silence every time.
