They said it was necessary.
They said it was justified.
They said it was for peace.
They always do.
And still—
an innocent man was executed by the state.
This is Good Friday.
And even now,
leaders pray while ordering violence—
but as the Pope reminded us this week,
God does not listen to prayers
from hands full of blood.
The crucifixion didn’t end.
We are still deciding who belongs on the cross.
