It was a blessing to spend time with the scholars of TRiO Student Support Services at the University of Mount Saint Vincent, sharing the HERstory of several Sisters of Charity and the many paths their ministries have taken. Students learned about the diverse work of Sr. Maria Iglesias, Sr. Mary Ann Garisto, and Sr. Margaret C. Kelly—women whose lives of faith have touched education, community service, and social justice.
Established in 1997, TRiO Student Support Services supports students through academic, professional, and cultural opportunities that help them thrive. The gathering became a wonderful conversation, as students asked thoughtful questions and reflected together on leadership, purpose, and how each person can make a difference in the world.
