40 years of faith, friendship, community — and walking together. 💛

This past weekend, we were blessed to join our friends at LEFSA — Life Experience and Faith Sharing Associates — as they celebrated an incredible 40 years of ministry and community.

The celebration honored the past while giving thanks for the community LEFSA continues to be today. Together, those gathered remembered beloved members who have died, shared music and stories, and celebrated the countless lives that have become part of the LEFSA family over four decades.

The Sisters of Charity of New York were deeply honored to be among five recipients of a LEFSA Service Award, named in honor of LEFSA’s founders. Sr. Donna Dodge accepted the award on behalf of our Sisters, recognizing a relationship that stretches back to LEFSA’s earliest days. The historic photo included here offers a beautiful glimpse into those beginnings — a reminder that ministries are built one relationship, one act of presence, and one faithful “yes” at a time.

Joining Sr. Donna for the celebration were Sr. Sheila Brosnan, Sr. Virginia Searing, Sr. Kathleen Byrnes, who served as one of the day’s speakers and has volunteered with LEFSA for six years, and SCNY Chief Operating Officer Sharon Dosin.

To everyone who has been part of LEFSA’s story — founders, members, volunteers, supporters and friends, past and present — congratulations on 40 extraordinary years.

May the faith shared, friendships formed, lives remembered, and community created continue for many years to come.
Honoring the past. Celebrating the present. Inspiring the future. 💚
Happy 40th Anniversary, LEFSA! 🎉💛
