Sister Linda felt privileged to minister in underserved areas. At the East Harlem and Montefiore School Health Centers, her clients’ needs ranged from pre-natal to senior care. Wherever she served, she offered individual care plans that considered the cultural and social environments of her clients. Being able to understand Spanish and French helped her communicate with many who came in need of assistance.

Sister Linda Giuli, Sister Mary Thérèse, was born June 19, 1943, in the Bronx, the only child of William and Lena Minadeo Giuli. Linda graduated from Saint Frances of Rome Elementary and Saint Barnabas High School, both in the Bronx, before entering the Sisters of Charity of New York on September 8, 1961. Sister Mary Thérèse earned a BA in French from College (University) of Mount Saint Vincent, an MS in Education from Hunter College, and an MS as Nurse Practitioner from Pace University, Manhattan. New York State awarded her a Teacher License Common Branches and Certification as a Registered Nurse.

Sister Linda’s years of active ministry were served in the fields of education and health care. After teaching at Our Lady of the Angelus, Rego Park, and at Saint Mary, Yonkers, she studied full time for a degree as Nurse Practitioner in the areas of Family Health Care and Addiction Medicine. For the next thirty years, she ministered at Westchester Health Department in New Rochelle, East Harlem Community Council, Montefiore Family Health Center, Montefiore School Health Center based at PS 8, and Saint Barnabas Hospital as an Addiction Medicine Nurse Practitioner, all in the Bronx.

In August 2009, Sister Linda was appointed Assistant Administrator at Convent of Mary the Queen, Yonkers, in service to the Sisters of Charity needing skilled nursing care. After retiring in 2013, she volunteered in the Archives of the Sisters of Charity and wherever she saw needs. In 2019, she joined the retirement community at Mount Saint Vincent Convent and later moved to Kittay Senior Apartments at the New Jewish Home in the Bronx. She died March 30, 2026, at Saint Barnabas Hospital, the Bronx, in the sixty-fourth year of commitment as a Sister of Charity of New York.

Between 1986 and 1998, she authored a set of poems gathered under the title, The Hermitage – A Collection of Poems from Me to You.

Sister Linda, you are called to continue your journey to the abundance of life in God. Go in belief of the resurrection and the words of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, “In the hour of death, defend me, call me to come to thee, receive me with the saints, in glory everlasting.” Rest in peace, Sister Linda.
